LIL WAYNE DROPS LETTER #7 BLESSED DAY OF MINE (BIRTHDAY BLOG)

Posted in Uncategorized on September 29, 2010 by tothedeath

As he approaches the home stretch on his year prison sentence (on November 5th), Lil Wayne celebrates his 28th birthday from Riker’s Island … and once again updates fans with a new blog called “This Blessed Day of Mine.”

In his seventh letter, Weezy reveals says he’s still passing his time by working out, playing Uno, and listening to ESPN Radio and/or slow jams on the radio. Yep, no hip-hop, strictly slow jams from the likes of Aaliyah, Keith Sweat, and Eric Benét who he says waits to come on the radio every day.

Additionally, he shouts out his kids, joked about Drake and Nicki Minaj’s fake wedding, and ended it with a marriage proposal.

Read Weezy’s full letter below, minus the fan shoutouts, which you can read over at WeezyThanxYou.com:

What’z poppin!

I hope that you all are well and as always, thank you thank you thank you for the endless love and support. I think by the time you all read this I’ll be 28 years old… feeling ancient in this b#tch! On that note, I do encourage you young people to enjoy your youth. And for the old heads like me, enjoy your life. Everyday!

As for me, I’m good. Awaiting freedom patiently. People often ask does the days feel longer now that the time is getting shorter… I say that there’s 24 hours in everyday. But honestly, I can’t fxckin’ wait! Sorry. Anyway, I’m still playing UNO. Still doing pushups and such, by the way, please don’t expect me to come out looking any different. I’m the same little ‘ol me. Also, I’ve been trying to get as much rest as I can because I know I won’t when I’m out of here. Wait, Aaliyah’s “Let Me Know” just came on the radio! “At your best, you are love”… and I try to always be at my best, for you.

I only listen to slow jams and ESPN. Shoutout to Keith Stewart and Dr. Bob Lee on WBLS, and Lenny Green on KISSfm. That’s all I listen to, other than sports. Oh and if you haven’t heard the new song by Eric Benet, “Sometimes I Cry”, please stop what you’re doing and check it out. Well, after you finish reading this. It’s the best song I’ve heard since Maxwell’s “Woman’s Worth”. It’s for grown folk. I actually listen to the radio all day waiting for that song. Anyway, so back to my fans, you are the best in the world. When reading those letters, you never cease to amaze me with your love. I am forever grateful.

So my kids are perfect. I miss them like crazy! Reginaé, you are the angel of my life. Kam, you are amazing. Neal, you are my little wonderful meatball. And Lil Tunechi Jr., you are so me. City, I am so you! I love my family and I thank them for the support during this time. It’s almost over. To my YMCM family, you are the fxckin’ best! Uhh Nik, I am jealous of you and Drizzy, but it’s cool! Ha ha. I miss you all and keep killin’ ‘em. I love y’all.

To everyone who’s come to visit me. I thank you for that, graciously. It means a lot. Well I’ll end this letter but never my love. Speaking of love… Mr. Chris Kyle, will you marry Ms. Ashalee Albarr??? Now that was cool. Well I hope y’all got my new album ‘I Am Not A Human Being’. It’s great, like every one of you. Peace.

P.S. … you’re mines.

MOS DEF SIGNS WITH KANYE WEST’S GO.O.D. MUSIC

Posted in Uncategorized on September 29, 2010 by tothedeath

Kanye West has expanded his G.O.O.D. Music roster once again, following the addition of the Clipse’s Pusha T earlier this month.

In the new issue of XXL, ‘Ye discusses his musical relationship with Mos Def, who has become the latest artist on his label’s roster.

According to HypeBeast, the mag article reads:

Just as Kanye returned to his roots to scoop up Common, he recently recruited his buddy Brooklyn rapper/singer/actor Mos Def into the G.O.O.D. Music fold. Long regarded as a formidable talent by underground devotees and mainstream fans alike, Mos appeared on “Two Words” (from Kanye’s 2005 The College Dropout) and “Drunk and Hot Girls” (from 2007’s Graduation).

Since his 1999 solo debut, Black on Both Sides, Mos has increasingly been pushed — whether by generational choices or self-exile — to the fringes of indie, alternative hip hop. Maybe it will take Kanye to reign him in.

Mos Def recently appeared on a track in West’s G.O.O.D. Friday series on a track called “Lord, Lord, Lord,” alongside Swizz Beatz, Raekwon and singer Charlie Wilson.

Def’s last album was The Ecstatic, released via indie label Downtown Records in 2009.

RICK ROSS X NIKE: BOOM COMMERCIAL

Posted in Uncategorized on September 28, 2010 by tothedeath

Apparently, rapper Rick Ross was enlisted by Nike for some sort of commercial, which recently surfaced on Youtube.

In the clip, the Miami rapper visits his local diamond dealer jeweler in the new “Nike: Boom” commercial, which features him strolling into a jewelry store to pick up a new customized piece. With a smile, the man behind the counter slides Ross a box, which he opens and exclaims “Boom!” before cutting to athletes repeating the buzzword.

Then, before the 18-second clip ends, you see a gold, silver, and black diamond-encrusted pendant of Ross wearing a pendant of his face … followed once again by Ross and his chain shouting “BOOM!”
