Dr. Dre says he’s fine tuning ‘detox’ album

Dr. DreNearly two weeks ago, a rough version of Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated first Detox single, “Under Pressure,” leaked to the Internet.

Shortly after, the producer released a statement on his official website (DrDre.com), making it clear it was not completed and that he’s still working on the song.

The track was supposed to hit in April, but never came.

While hope that Detox coming out this year continues to fade, Dr. Dre told our friends over at HardKnock.TV that he’s just fine-tuning it and it’ll come out later this year.

“I’m leaving this event [and] going right to the studio. I’m getting it cracking.” Dre told them while walking the red carpet at this year’s ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards. “I’m trying to put it out by the end of the fall. I’m trying to give everybody what they’re waiting for and make sure they’re not disappointed. That’s all I’m doing.”

As far as “Under Pressure,” he once again made it clear the single isn’t done, crediting technology to the leak.

“I didn’t get to finish the record. The vocals are real rough. It’s not blended right … a hook is not even on the song. It’s not done,” Dre explained. “It’s one of the things we have to deal with today in the business because of the technology and Internet and all that. It’s real easy for somebody to steal your sh**. What can you do?”

As of press time, there was no timeframe for the release of Detox, or the official release of “Under Pressure.”
