With Lebron James’ impending free agency this off season, everyone is wondering where he’ll sign to. James, himself, has no idea, even though he did say the Cleveland Cavs “have an edge” since that’s his home town.

One city who really want the NBA superstar is New York City. So much so that even Mayor Bloomberg has launched the “C’Mon Lebron” campaign in hopes of bring James to the Knicks … or future Brooklyn Nets.

Some feel these teams may have an edge, especially the Nets, since Jay-Z is a minority owner and is good friends with the b-ball phenom. But, Jay revealed, via a recentinterview with Rolling Stone, that he’s not courting James at all…

“That’s his decision,” the rapper said. “We’re friends — we’ve still gotta hang out! I don’t want to convince somebody to do something, then have to see him and say, ‘Uh, yeah, we’re 4-30 …sorry.”

According to Jay, the team’s recruiting efforts are up to its new owner, Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

As for the “C’Mon Lebron” campaign in NY, its Facebook page already has more than 3,000 fans.

We’ll have to wait until next season to see what city Lebron will be wearing on his jersey.
